MOTUC: Hurricane Hordak & Leech Review!Welcome to Dungeon of Review-Or! Today we look at two long awaited members of The Evil Horde that are as of this writing STILL AVAILABLE on mattycollector.com! First up is the Evil Master of Suction LEECH! This figure features a lot of newly sculpted parts particularly in the torso area. A lot of fans have complained about the proportions on this figure which I understand, when the figure is standing upright he does look pretty silly but when he’s crouched in a similar pose to the original he looks pretty great. Something about the overall appearance gives him a Jack Kirby vibe that I really dig. The paint applications are pretty nice, I’m glad they didn’t phone it in and just give him one shade of green all over. I also like the arm band with the connecting Shoulder Armor which I’m sure a few customizers will find some interesting uses for. The wideness of his feet give him a natural balance and ankle rockers were wisely put in so that they could remain flat on surfaces in most poses. As you can see he still has two suction cups for hands, however they are made of hard plastic so unlike the vintage figure they don’t actually have any suction power. This begs the question “If Catra’s claw hand HAS to be made of a softer plastic, why couldn’t the same softer plastic have been used on Leech’s hands to make his suction cups functional?” Okay so Leech doesn’t …well…suck. But his accessories do! I mean…in a good way! Check out that Horde Capture Net in action! Leech even comes with his own Horde Crossbow like the original. However my favorite thing about this new figure is his head which has sparked a lot of controversy amongst die hard He-Fans. I love this Four Horsemen design which remains faithful in style to the original BUT instead of the ridiculous suction cup on the front of his mouth, it’s been designed in a way where the average MOTUC figure’s head fits snugly into his maw so he can be displayed draining brains like the energy hungry monster he is! We’re now only missing Mantenna from the original four Evil Horde figures and I can’t wait to see how 4H handle him! But The Evil Horde NEVER rests. This month Club Eternia Members should prepare themselves. “Something wicked this way comes.” Hurricane Hordak! This is a truly impressive figure for a variant. The Vac Metal Gold armor is visually striking and will surely make him a standout in any display. Though I like his attachments (and YES the ROBOTO and TRAPJAW attachments fit in his arm as well) I really wish they could spin freely. For some reason they are extremely tight which once again begs a no-brainer type of question: “If we have to endure loose ankle joints on practically every other MOTUC figure produced why can’t we have a loose joint the one time it would actually help?” Other than this nitpick though this version of Hordak is solid from top to bottom. I even like the darker highlights on his hood which give him an even more sinister vibe. Both of these figures AND the re-release figure of Chief Carnivus are currently available here at http://www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/DisplayShopperDefinedBundlePage/OfferID.9739735809 Until your next visit the Dungeon this is Review-Or signing off.

I received mine today and like most recent sub figures, they’re being set aside for sale or trade. I was never into the line long enough to get any of the Horde figures but hopefully, the fans will be happy.
