During yesterday’s Toy Con, I met up with fellow DC animated figures collector Jonathan “The Sibster” Sibulo. Sib just happened to be holding a bag full of JLU action figures and guess who was in the bag?

Why it’s the Blue Devil. Sib and I discussed how this item must already be due for release anytime soon. So I asked him if he planned on getting the bag. He decide not to – and then we walked our own separate ways to hunt for other stuff. About a quarter of an hour later, I found myself standing in front of the same booth where Sib found the bag with the devil inside. I asked the girl manning the booth if she’d be willing to sell just Blue Devil to me, to which her reply was a sweet no. So I walk away empty handed the second time. Another 15 minutes later, I chanced upon the owner of the booth and made him the same offer I did his salesgirl just a few minutes earlier. He shook his head while holding the bag and told me “ganyan talaga pag nango-ngolekta…” (it’s really like that when you are collecting) – as he proceeded to fish out the figure from the bag to hand to me.

Long story short – I managed to purchase it for a decent price. I have to thank Sib for deciding to pass on it :-)

Here are some quick snapshots.

The figure came with a stand – which I’m pretty sure did not belong to the figure. The stand includes a small screw which was supposed to go into the hole at the base and then through the hole under the figure’s foot. Guess what – both feet do not have holes in them. There was no accessory (trident) either and the figure had some paint stains in some areas.
