May 5, 2007 – Saturday – is Free Comic Book Day. As the name implies, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world are giving away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores. Overall participation from just about every major comic book publisher has been amazing, from the biggest publishers to independent publishers, fansites, news magazines, and more.

Is this just happening in the U.S.? No, any comic book store in the world can participate in Free Comic Book Day, although there may be some limitations on which titles are available in which countries due to licensing and other considerations.

In the Philippines, one of the participating comic book stores is Druid’s Keep or DK to its avid patrons. This is DK’s 3rd year to participate in Free Comic Book Day. Drop by this Saturday between 12:00PM – 8:00PM – discounts and drinks will be available. And who knows, you might even catch one of our local talented comic book artists there.
