DCD Reactivated Series 1The first batch of DC Direct’s Reactivated figures was released a few days ago. Many DCD collectors I know were on the fence as to whether or not they should purchase the figures. Many were speculating that these would simply have no difference from their earlier counterparts except maybe a different shade of color or perhaps an additional accessory. Well, to help those who have not actually seen them yet, below are some comparative pictures. ![]() Superman from Superman series 1 (L) and Reactivated Superman (R) ![]() Re-issued Superman from JLA series 1 (L) and Reactivated Superman (R) ![]() Reactivated Batman (L) and Unmasked Batman from Secret Files (R) ![]() Wonder Woman from the Wonder Woman & Wonder Girl boxed set (L), Reactivated Wonder Woman (M) and Wonder Woman from The Brave and The Bold gift set (R) ![]() Lobo from Lobo with Cycle and Dawg set (L) and Reactivated Lobo (R) For those who did buy into this series, the common observation seems to be that the paint jobs for this series are not as good as the earlier releases. Except for Lobo who got a new noggin, the sculpts on the remaining 3 are all recycled from their earlier versions. So, is there any good reason to pick these up? For those who missed out on the earlier releases, these figures are excellent buys. Completists will also likely pick one or two or even an entire set. To the Batman fans who have been clamoring for DCD to make a Batman in his “bat logo with yellow oval” costume – this is probably the closest you’ll get to having one. The rest of us might just be stuck looking at these photos, undecided. Photos were generously provided by Yamson Yu (aka Naughty Boy). All characters â„¢ and © DC Comics. All rights reserved.

It’s my first time to really explore this site, after I registered last week. And I’m really impressed. Vader, thanks for taking time to compose these very interesting and information-packed articles; my thank-yous also go out to the photo contributors. This particular article comparing the original DCD fig & their Re-activated counterparts show your dedication to really help out fellow collectors. You’re all great guys!
Thanks for the props, Caulfield. We hope to make this hub the definitive source of info for local collectiors here in the Philippines. I have to give credits to many of the regular members who are always willing to help out and contribute. Without them, I doubt we’ll have much info to go around :-)
